  Having seen on their signage that they make donairs, my friend and I wanted to go there, as there's nowhere in Nelson that donairs are served; it took us, like, 2 months before we finally found ourselves there before 3pm. We hadn't had a donair in years, if not decades, we anticipated the spiced meat and tzaziki yumminess we remembered from a Vancouver hole-in-the-wall on Hastings where we both used to frequent before we ever met years later... hoping a price of $5, but realistically expecting $10 for one, because, Nelson. We remained undetterred at the $14.95... each! T'was disheartening upon eating our expensive lunches at my nearby place to find not enough meat, yellowy iceberg lettuce, tomatoes not remembered if there were any, and hardly any szazitki sauce, wrapped in an oversized pita bread... Ironic that $30 = two crappy bready donairs and a little window opening out of a wall on Hastings where for $2 you got the best donair piled meat/romaine/tomatoes/sauce slathered... even if that was early 90's... it's long gone by now... What's with affluent regions and crappy expensive restaurants whereas there's always awesome eateries located in lowest income neighborhoods... Previously lived years in Gibsons/Sechelt and drove thru Ossoyoos, these towns suffer similarly as Nelson from lack of decent take-out. Lower the price to no more than $10 which should reflect in less bread and more meat & sauce with any not-iceberg lettuce and existence of tomatoes. Wotta letdown!

  Great food. Great prices. Friendly service. What more could you ask for? My coworkers and I popped in on our last day of a conference in Nelson. True to it's name, this is truly a "Hut". But don't be turned off by the size. Just go on in and enjoy your meal.
